Powers Health in Munster, IN is hiring for an Environmental Service Assistant under the Environmental Services Director to help maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and hospital staff. No experience is required and a High School Diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities include cleaning assigned areas to Joint Commission standards, maintaining equipment, disinfecting patient rooms, restocking supplies, and assisting in pest control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• No experience required.
• Able to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions given in English.

Responsabilités

• Performs basic cleaning and maintenance to meet Joint Commission standards (sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, polishing floors; cleaning surfaces; collecting and transporting medical waste/linens).
• Maintains environmental services equipment (floor scrubbers and vacuums).
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms during hospital stay and after discharge.
• Assists in pest control by reporting to maintenance.
• Restocks sanitation products in assigned areas.
• Moves furniture or heavy objects to facilitate cleaning.

Powers Health is hiring for Environmental Services in Munster, IN.

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Director, the environmental services assistant services the facility to assist in providing a clean, attractive, safe environment for patients, visitors and hospital staff.

Environmental Service Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs all basic cleaning necessary to keep assigned areas in accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation Standards. Duties can include: sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, vacuuming, and spot cleaning floors. Cleanand polish surfaces. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces. Collects and transports medical waste or clean/dirty linen. Cleans windows, changes window treatments and cubicle curtains, washes walls.
• Must maintain all environmental services equipment, which includes floor scrubbersand vacuum cleaners.
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms during hospital stay and after patient discharge.
• Assists in the control of pests, such as rodents and insects by reporting to the maintenance department.
• Restock all sanitation products in assigned areas.
• Moves furniture or heavy objects to provide pathway for cleaning purposes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
