Job summary

Powers Health in Munster, IN is seeking an Environmental Service Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Under the direction of the Environmental Services Director, you will perform basic cleaning tasks in assigned areas and assist with waste handling and linen care.

No prior experience is required, and a High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. The role offers full-time hours (80 hours per pay period) with a comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities

• Performs basic cleaning to keep areas in line with standards (sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, vacuuming, polishing).
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms during and after hospital stays.
• Maintains environmental services equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuums).
• Restocks sanitation products in assigned areas.
• Assists in pest control by reporting issues to maintenance.

Powers Health is hiring for Environmental Services in Munster, IN.

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Director, the environmental services assistant services the facility to assist in providing a clean, attractive, safe environment for patients, visitors and hospital staff.

Environmental Service Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs all basic cleaning necessary to keep assigned areas in accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation Standards. Duties can include: sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, vacuuming, and spot cleaning floors. Cleanand polish surfaces. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces. Collects and transports medical waste or clean/dirty linen. Cleans windows, changes window treatments and cubicle curtains, washes walls.
• Must maintain all environmental services equipment, which includes floor scrubbersand vacuum cleaners.
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms during hospital stay and after patient discharge.
• Assists in the control of pests, such as rodents and insects by reporting to the maintenance department.
• Restock all sanitation products in assigned areas.
• Moves furniture or heavy objects to provide pathway for cleaning purposes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
