Job summary

Children’s Minnesota is seeking an Environmental Services staff member to support daily cleaning tasks across patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges and clinics. Under direct supervision you will follow standard procedures to maintain a safe, hygienic environment in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires strong customer service, the ability to work independently or in a team, and clear communication with diverse patients and families. Prior housekeeping or related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Six months general housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient and family populations.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, performs daily cleaning tasks for patient and resident rooms, nursing station, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department.

Department Overview

The Environmental Services Department provides cleaning and/or disinfecting services in all hospital areas. They are also responsible for the collection and management of infectious and solid waste, moves, set-ups, used equipment, recycling program, pest control, and environmental maintenance.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, performs daily cleaning tasks for patient and resident rooms, nursing station, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with facility standards and objectives.

Experience
  • 6 months general housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient and family populations.
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team, using good judgment in completing work assignments.
Physical Demands

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
