Job summary

Essel Environmental in Sacramento seeks an experienced Environmental Construction Superintendent / Field Manager to lead remediation and field construction projects. You will ensure safety, efficiency, schedule adherence, and budget compliance across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will supervise multidisciplinary crews, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with vendors while driving cost control and timely project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental remediation and construction projects at multiple sites with minimal supervision.
• Manage daily field operations including personnel, subcontractors, equipment operators, and labor crews.
• Ensure compliance with all company and client Health & Safety requirements.
• Coordinate project sequencing, scheduling, and execution to maintain productivity and prevent delays.
• Interpret project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Identify changed conditions, potential risks, and out-of-scope work.
• Complete and maintain accurate daily field reports and project documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and production goals.
• Procure materials and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist with cost estimates, change orders, and forecasting project costs to complete.
• Participate in site walks, subcontractor solicitation, estimating, and proposal support.
• Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions, SOPs, and safety stand-downs when necessary.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and field efficiencies.
• Work closely with senior leadership to support operational and project goals.
• Supervise, mentor, and support the development of field staff and craft personnel.

About the Role
