Job summary

Envirocon is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on environmental remediation, civil construction, and demolition projects. The role requires site management, coordination with foremen and craft workers, and interaction with Project Managers to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in supervisory roles, strong MS Office and scheduling software skills, solid cost control experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively across a wide variety of individuals.
• Knowledge of cost control systems to support job performance and efficiency.
• Experience with daily quantity and cost reporting
• Ability to prepare and review labor and equipment reports.
• Strong understanding of project contracts and scopes; able to work with Project Managers and Contract Administrators to develop change notices and justifications.
• Knowledge of equipment capabilities and performance to ensure proper equipment selection and use.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with craft personnel, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments such as purchasing and engineering.
• Able to thrive under pressure while managing multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrates persistence, initiative, and problem-solving creativity in day-to-day responsibilities.
• Must meet Envirocon’s driver qualification standards and hold a valid driver's license.
• Solid understanding of construction scheduling and cost control, with the ability to supervise and lead large teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite field management for various sized projects.

• Direct onsite efforts to meet policy, design, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Coordinate materials, vendors, subcontractors, and craft labor to achieve project goals.

• Assist in project management functions including client relations.
• Train and mentor direct reports (foremen, craft employees).
• Maintain daily diary for record keeping purposes.
• Assist with submittal preparation, cost tracking, cost estimating, proposal development, and new work development.

Job description

We are looking for Construction Superintendents with experience in environmental remediation, civil construction, and/or demolition. Superintendentsprovide the onsite field management for various sized projects.On largerprojects, the Superintendent may supervise multipleforemenand craft employees.On smaller projects, the Superintendent may be responsible for administrative management functions with oversite from a Project Manager or Operations Director.The Superintendent acts without close supervision, within certain established parameters, proven experience and judgment are expected.

This is a project-based position.

  • Ability to review project hazards and participate in Job Hazard Analysis
  • Perform pre-task planning
  • Participate in incident investigation and reporting
• Direct onsite efforts to ensure that assigned projects are completed in accordance with policy, design, budget, and schedule.
• Select, schedule, and track properly sized and necessary equipment for completing project tasks.
• Coordinate and direct material, vendors, subcontractors, and craft labor as required on project to ensure project goals are achieved.
• Assist the Project Manager in the selection and hiring of craft personnel.
• Assist Project Manager/Operations Director in all necessary project management functions as required including good client relations involving staff onsite.
• Responsible for the training and mentoring of direct reports (i.e., foremen, craft employees, etc.).

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or equivalent role in environmental remediation, civil construction, and/or demolition.
• Proven experience managing large, complex projects with multiple field staff.
