Job summary

Cummins Inc. invites motivated students to join its internship program in a dynamic, on-site environment in the United States. Interns will support project teams with structured administrative and logistics duties while developing foundational business and project management skills.

Candidates should be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree, with a GPA hint of excellence, and be prepared for a 40-hour work week across 4 to 12 months, depending on program requirements.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Applies developing business process and project management skills within an area of business or technical specialty.
• Manages small positions of well-defined projects. Provides administrative and logistics support for a project team and project manager.
• Serves as a resource on projects and work assignments; employs basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.
• Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.
• Monitors and communicates project status to project team.
• Assists with budget planning and tracking, research, and analytical support; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
• Assists with managing project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk.
• Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other experiences to enhance the success of the project.
• Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Manager on status of specific projects and assignments.

2026 Monthly Salary Range by Degree Level:

• Bachelor's - $3,700 - $4,400
• Master's - $5,600
• PhD - $5,800

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

Internship program criteria:

• Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/university
• Minimum 2.5 or above GPA preferred
• Must be able to complete a minimum of 4-months to 6-months or a maximum of a 12-months commitment
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
• Willingness to learn from others on the job
• Must be currently residing within the continental U.S.

Summer Intern: Students must be enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university, actively pursuing a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, MBA, or JD), with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Candidates must currently reside within the continental United States. Students are expected to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks.

International Student Eligibility (U.S. based roles): F-1 visa students must have approved Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Occupational Practical Training (OPT) before their Early Career assignment begin. CPT/OPT must relate to their degree and be authorized by their university. Students are responsible for securing this approval through their school’s international office.
