Job summary

Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading energy distribution company to identify an Environmental Director who will shape environmental strategy and compliance across multi-state operations, including spill response and incident management.

The role oversees permits, audits, and regulatory filings; builds a high-performing team; tracks regulatory developments; and collaborates with agencies and cross-functional partners to advance environmental objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12–15 years of experience managing environmental compliance programs or equivalent.
  • Experience with air and stormwater regulations preferred.
  • Proven experience leading and supervising an environmental team.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and submits environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory applications and conduct facility audits and assessments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Build and oversee a high-performing environmental team through talent acquisition, training, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.
  • Monitors regulatory developments, evaluates their impact on the business, and implements compliance programs, procedures, and processes to meet applicable environmental requirements.
  • Collaborates effectively with agency representatives, business partners, consultants, and cross-functional teams to advance environmental objectives and compliance initiatives.
