Job summary

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC (SSE) seeks an Environmental Specialist (Mid-Level) to support the 647 Civil Engineering Squadron at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The role focuses on coordinating installation environmental compliance, records, and planning per DoD and Air Force requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience managing environmental compliance programs.
• Knowledge of federal/state/DoD/Air Force environmental requirements.
• Experience with inspections, permitting, corrective-action tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports and regulatory correspondence.
• Must complete Tier 1 background investigation and obtain CAC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering/Biology/Chemistry from a US-accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental program management, including 3 years of military facility/infrastructure experience.

• Manage environmental inspections and field support for water, soil, asbestos, lead-based paint, wildlife, and hazardous materials.
• Prepare technical evaluations, compliance reports, and environmental briefing materials.

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC (SSE) is a government contracting and consulting firm supporting military installations and federal agencies across the nation. SSE is seeking an Environmental Specialist (Mid-Level) to support our ongoing mission with the 647 Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.

This position will manage and coordinate installation environmental compliance and conservation programs; support environmental records transition and data management; and provide technical support for environmental planning, permitting, inspections, abatement, remediation, and facility projects. The Environmental Specialist will coordinate with Civil Engineering personnel, regulators, mission partners, community groups, and other stakeholders to maintain environmental compliance and support mission requirements.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and evaluate environmental compliance and conservation programs in accordance with applicable federal, state, DoD, and Air Force requirements.
• Lead or support transition, organization, analysis, and maintenance of environmental records in Air Force repositories, SharePoint, and NexGen IT or equivalent databases.
• Develop or review environmental project plans, studies, specifications, cost estimates, mitigation actions, abatement projects, and facility-project documentation.
• Coordinate regulatory permitting, inspections, correspondence, enforcement responses, and corrective actions through closure.
• Manage environmental inspections and field support involving water, soil, asbestos-containing material, lead-based paint, wildlife, hazardous materials, and other compliance areas.
• Prepare technical evaluations, compliance reports, environmental-condition assessments, data analyses, presentations, and leadership briefing materials.

What You Bring:

Required:

• Demonstrated experience managing environmental compliance, conservation, or environmental-program activities.
• Knowledge of federal, state, DoD, and Air Force environmental requirements applicable to military facilities and infrastructure.
• Experience with environmental inspections, permitting, technical documentation, corrective-action tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to analyze environmental data and prepare clear technical reports, briefings, and regulatory correspondence.
• Must be able to successfully complete the required Tier 1 background investigation and obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related natural science field from an accredited institution within the 50 United States required.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental program management experience, including at least 3 years of military facility/infrastructure experience.
