Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking an Environmental Specialist III to coordinate and implement agricultural components of the Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP) and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) programs, delivering Best Management Practices (BMP) to commercial growers and farms.

The role includes on-site irrigation system evaluations, data collection, database management, and coordination with multiple state and local agencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2 years experience in agriculture or environmental science.
• OR 1.5 years experience as Environmental Specialist I or higher with State of Florida.
• OR bachelor's degree in agriculture or environmental science with 6 months experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements BMPs for commercial growers and farms.
• Performs on-site irrigation system evaluations and data collection.
• Manages database and coordinates with multiple state/local agencies.
