Job summary

The Environmental Specialist III at the Florida Department of Health conducts environmental site inspections with a focus on OSTDS, well construction, and beach water quality monitoring across Broward County. The Environmental Specialist III conducts environmental site inspections for the Florida Department of Health to ensure compliance with state and local laws, with a focus on Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems (OSTDS), well construction, and beach water quality monitoring across Broward County. The role involves plan review, permit issuance and denial, field inspections, water sampling, GPS data collection, and technical reporting, working independently under general supervision. This is an internal agency opportunity available only to current Department of Health employees.
