Job summary

The Environmental Specialist III at the Florida Department of Health conducts environmental site inspections with a focus on OSTDS, well construction, and beach water quality monitoring across Broward County. You will assess compliance with state and local laws and prepare technical reports under general supervision.

Responsibilities include plan review, permit issuance and denial, field inspections, water sampling, GPS data collection, and data-driven reporting, with independence and attention

Qualifications

• Ability to operate field equipment such as auger, soil probe, laser level, GPS data logger, and chlorine test kit.
• Knowledge of inspection processes and environmental compliance standards.
• Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze scientific and technical data.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and legal notices.
• Knowledge of rules, laws, and techniques pertaining to water pollution and environmental concerns.
