Position: Environmental Specialist

Location: Indianapolis, IN

We are looking for a team-oriented and energetic problem solver to join our environmental science team. This role involves working with Project Managers, Geologists, Ecologists, and Environmental Specialists on characterizing natural resources and assessing potential environmental impacts on infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will share our vision for integrating the built environment and natural resources, seeking practical solutions while maintaining high standards of excellence in our environmental practice.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare environmental documentation under NEPA requirements.
2. Conduct wetland and waterway delineations and prepare related reports and permits.
3. Assist in wetland and stream mitigation plans, site monitoring, Phase I ESA, and general environmental consulting.
4. Support proposal development for new business opportunities.
5. Perform field data collection for environmental investigations and natural resource surveys.
6. Collect and analyze environmental samples and data.
7. Create maps using GIS software and analyze environmental impacts.
8. Coordinate with government agencies and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
9. Assist in public outreach and participation efforts.
10. Maintain positive client relationships and support business development.
11. Review work products for quality and compliance with QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory environments.
• Certification in FHWA/INDOT NEPA.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ARC GIS preferred.
• Ability to work in variable conditions, including remote sites.
