Environmental Specialist

Taconic, a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts, and tapes, is seeking an Environmental Specialist for our corporate office in Petersburgh, NY. The role involves assisting, coordinating, and performing duties to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations related to hazardous materials, hazardous waste, air emissions, industrial wastewater treatment, water discharges, stormwater management, safe drinking water, and inactive site remediation.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline, along with five years of environmental compliance experience. Excellent written, oral, and computer skills are required, as well as good interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on changing work conditions. Experience working with regulatory agencies and knowledge of manufacturing processes are essential.

Additional knowledge or training in environmental compliance, waste management, inactive site investigation and remediation, drinking water treatment, and industrial wastewater treatment is preferred. The salary range is $75,000 - $125,000 per year.
