Job summary

Nucor Insulated Panel Group seeks an Environmental Specialist to lead multi-site environmental compliance across Sheridan, AR, North Las Vegas, NV, and Brigham City, UT, focusing on air, water and waste programs.

You will manage permits, tracking, reporting (TRI, DMRs), EMS coordination, audits, training, and community outreach, while promoting safety and environmental stewardship and serving as liaison with state and federal agencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two years of environmental compliance experience.
• Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing and able to travel in the US and internationally up to 50% of the time.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
• 4-year degree in environmental, health, safety or related technical field.
• Solid understanding of environmental permitting and serve as a liaison for State and Federal environmental agencies
• 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing field

Responsibilities

• Leadership in all environmental matters including permitting, maintenance, recording keeping, and auditing of environmental compliance programs.
• Take a lead role in plant-wide environmental project management, training, and community outreach.
• Interact with Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies on permitting, compliance, and facility inspections.
• Submit required environmental reports to agencies including Air Emissions Inventory, Annual Waste Summary, TRI, and DMRs.
• Represent Nucor Insulated Panel Group at corporate EHS meetings, training sessions, and plant audits.
• Track and submit division metrics related to corporate requirements/award statistics.

Job description

Nucor Insulated Panel Group (NIPG), a proud Nucor product group, is one of North America’s largest and most experienced manufacturers of Insulated Metal Panels. With 8 locations throughout the United States and 1 location in Canada. This role would be supporting the NIPG locations in Sheridan, Arkansas, North Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brigham City, Utah.

Environmental Specialists at Nucor Insulated Panel Group provide leadership in all environmental matters including permitting, maintenance, recording keeping, and auditing of environmental compliance programs. Additional duties include taking a lead role in plant-wide environmental project management, training, and community outreach.

• Leadership role in promoting Nucor’s mission ensuring that safety is instilled as a value with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.
• Assist multiple locations in the division in maintaining compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, tank management, emergency plans, Risk Management Plan, and environmental management system (EMS).
• Ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects.
• Interact with various Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies on permitting, compliance, and facility inspections.
• Submit required environmental reports to agencies including but not limited to: Air Emissions Inventory, Annual Waste Summary, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), discharge monitoring reports (DMRs).
• Represent Nucor Insulated Panel Group at Corporate and Nucor Insulated Panel Group EHS meetings, training sessions, and plant audits.
• Track and submit division metrics as related to corporate requirements/President’s Environmental award statistics.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two years of environmental compliance experience
