Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team in Kokomo, IN. The role focuses on driving environmental compliance, permitting activities, sustainability initiatives, and reduction of environmental impact within a large-scale manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Environmental Specialist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field.
  • Experience with environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience preparing compliance reports and responding to regulatory inquiries, audits, and inspections.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple environmental compliance obligations.
  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • ISO certification or equivalent work experience with Clean Water Clean Air Act.
  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of climate change programs, environmental justice, and circular economy practices.
  • Experience working within large-scale manufacturing or energy production environments.
  • Experience supporting audits and environmental impact reduction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage environmental permitting requirements and ongoing compliance obligations.
  • Track, analyze, and report environmental performance trends and compliance metrics.
  • Prepare environmental reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Respond to environmental compliance inquiries, audits, inspections, and vendor visits.
  • Support environmental permitting activities for new equipment, processes, and facility modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Provide environmental training and guidance to site personnel.
  • Partner with facility teams on environmental initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with special projects, including introducing new chemicals/processes into U.S. operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support environmental management system improvements and future sustainability initiatives.

This individual will join the Environmental, Health & Safety team and play a key role in driving environmental compliance, permitting activities, sustainability initiatives, and environmental impact reduction efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting environmental programs within a manufacturing environment and possess a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, reporting, and environmental management systems.
