Job summary

X4 Engineering's Environmental Simulation and Reliability Lab seeks a senior leader to own operations, revenue, and delivery. You will supervise engineers and technicians, coordinate projects, and ensure on-time results across climatic, mechanical, and dynamic tests.

You will write test plans to ISO/IEC 17025, IEC, MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, and customer specs; drive customer relationships and growth of the Military/Defense vertical with the regional sales team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on environmental simulation and reliability testing in a lab.
• Knowledge of thermal, vibration, shock, humidity, altitude, and combined environments.
• Experience supervising engineers/technicians in a lab.
• Ability to write test plans, present results, manage customer expectations.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and quality management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; represent the company credibly to customers.
• Authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license and mobility to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Simulation and Reliability Lab operations, including staff leadership and on-time delivery.
• Schedule daily RFQ intake and quoting with National Sales; manage customer relationships.
• Oversee climatic, mechanical, and dynamic tests (thermal, vibration, humidity, etc.).
• Directly manage lab engineers/technicians and performance.
• Develop and review test plans and procedures to ASTM/IEC/MIL-STD/etc.; meet customer specs.
• Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation; conduct internal audits and calibration programs.
• Drive CAPEX proposals and equipment roadmap to grow capabilities.
• Grow Military/Defense vertical with regional sales and new offerings.
• Provide technical sales support with proposals and site visits.
• Collaborate with Eurofins labs to share best practices.

Job description

• Full operation of the Environmental Simulation and Reliability Lab, including technical staff leadership, revenue and budget performance, project coordination, and on-time delivery.
• Daily scheduling, RFQ intake and quoting from the National Sales Team, and customer relationships across the full commercial book of business.
• Hands-on execution and oversight of climatic, mechanical, and dynamic testing, including thermal, vibration, shock, humidity, altitude, and combined environments.
• Direct management of lab engineers and technicians, owning their daily direction, development, and performance.
• Development and review of test plans and procedures to ASTM, IEC, MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, customer specifications, and internal protocols.
• ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation compliance, internal audits, calibration programs, and equipment maintenance.
• CAPEX proposals and the equipment roadmap to support capability growth and operational reliability.
• Growth of the Military, Defense, and Aerospace vertical alongside the regional sales team, including new and reinstated service offerings.
• Technical sales support, including proposals, customer site visits, and program pursuits with prime contractors and Tier 1 suppliers.
• Collaboration with Eurofins labs across the network to deliver integrated testing solutions and share best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in environmental simulation and reliability testing (climatic, mechanical, dynamic) in a laboratory environment.
• Working knowledge of environmental and reliability test disciplines: thermal, vibration, shock, humidity, altitude, and combined environments.
• Experience directly supervising engineers and/or technicians in a lab setting.
• Demonstrated ability to engage customers technically: writing test plans, presenting results, and managing customer expectations.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements and quality management in a testing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to represent Eurofins credibly to customers and program teams.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license and the physical dexterity and mobility to perform lab functions and to travel by car or air as needed.

Ideal Candidate

• Hands-on experience with MIL-STD-810 and/or RTCA/DO-160 in a defense, aerospace, or government lab context.
• HALT/HASS, reliability life testing, or MIL-HDBK-217 reliability prediction.
• Business development, account management, or customer-facing technical sales experience in the TIC or defense sector.

Basic Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (equivalent experience considered). High school diploma or GED required.
