Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in American Fork, Utah, seeks an Environmental Services Supervisor to direct staff in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance per hospital and Joint Commission standards. You will oversee scheduling, quality inspections, rounds, and training to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

The role requires strong communication, computer literacy, and leadership. It offers a 36-hour full-time schedule with weekend shifts and a competitive benefits package

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet department needs.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Experience in Environmental Services in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs scheduling and staffing; delegates assignments for cleaning hospital rooms, offices, public areas and other spaces.
  • Inspects employee work through frequent quality control checks to ensure a safe, clean environment.
  • Conducts rounds and participates in new employee orientation and ongoing training on cleaning techniques, chemicals, safety and procedures.
  • Assists department leadership with interviewing, candidate selection and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate and motivate staff to complete cleaning tasks on time; adjust duties based on staffing and patient load.
  • Provide cleaning duties as needed based on demand.
