Job summary

DRH Health seeks a custodial technician to clean and maintain DRH Health facilities and locations. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, patient rooms, dorms, classrooms, and common areas; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors; stocking supplies; and reporting maintenance needs.

The role requires knowledge of safe custodial practices, strong communication, ability to follow regulations, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Clean offices, patients’/residents’ rooms, dorms, classrooms, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas, and other areas requiring attention.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and/or polish floors; vacuum hallways, stairs and offices.
  • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and window coverings.
  • Stock and replenish supplies; empty trash containers.
  • Move furniture and set up tables and chairs as needed; drive cart or vehicle if required.
  • Shampoo/clean carpet and buff/polish floors requiring mechanical equipment.

Job description

Clean and keep DRH Health facilities and locations in an orderly condition.

Responsibilities (essential Functions)
  • Utilize chemicals to clean offices, patients’/residents’ rooms, dorms, classrooms, schools, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas, and any other areas that may require attention.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and/or polish floors.
  • Vacuum hallways, stairs, and offices.
  • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and window coverings.
  • Stock and replenish supplies.
  • Empty trash containers.
  • Shampoo/clean carpet and buff/polish floors requiring the use of mechanical equipment, as needed.
  • Change sheets and replenish linens, as needed.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs, as needed.
  • Drive cart or other vehicle, as needed.
  • Move furniture and set up tables and chairs, as needed.
  • Advise management of supplies, equipment, maintenance, and repair needs.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Follow dress code policy.
  • Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.
  • Attend training as needed.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
  • This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
  • Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of proper and safe use of custodial equipment and chemicals. Ability to effectively communicate with others. Basic ability to use technology related to job duties and responsibilities. Ability to effectively follow applicable regulations, policies, and/or procedures. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent or work-related experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Blood borne pathogen training. For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
