Job Summary

The Environmental Services Technician II at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for creating a clean, safe, and compliant environment to support delivery of high quality care by performing daily and special cleaning that meets departmental procedures, safety, and infection control standards. This role goes beyond immediate cleaning tasks to ensure a high-quality customer service experience and to identify opportunities for improvement across responsibilities. The technician must be organized, efficient, adaptable, and flexible to support team needs as they arise.

Responsibilities

1. Performs daily floor care, stripping/refinishing, and carpet care in all hospital areas according to SOPs.
2. Performs all cleaning standards as needed.

Teamwork

• Constantly seeks improvement; takes initiative beyond assigned tasks.
• Collaborates with coworkers to enhance hospital environment for patients and families.
• Takes ownership of spills or trash and cleans them up.
• Works as part of the EVS team to ensure high-quality cleaning daily.

Clerical

• Completes floor care tracking sheets as assigned.
• Logs in/out of Teletracking for lunch/breaks.

Customer Service

• Ensures excellent customer service.
• Responds promptly to management and internal departments.
• Identifies and suggests process improvement opportunities.
• Supports coworkers and other departments as needed.
• Follows AIDET and High Profile Cleaning protocols during patient interactions.

Budget

• Uses supplies appropriately at all times.

Regulations

• Adheres to NMHS behavioral standards and policies.
• Complies with local, state, federal policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
