Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas is seeking a part-time Environmental Services associate to clean and maintain patient and public areas. You will stock supplies, follow infection control procedures, and support bed management activities using a handheld system.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to safety, and delivering patient-centered cleanliness. Training provided; benefits available starting Day One.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good English communication skills are required.
• Healthcare environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily and removes trash while sanitizing surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in designated areas as needed.
• Follows infection control procedures and safely operates cleaning equipment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to track bed throughput using handheld devices.

Job Description

Shift

Part-Time Nights; 20 hours a week

Compensation is based on experience, with trainees who have no prior experience starting at $17.50 per hour.

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.


• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.


• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.


• Other duties as assigned.


• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]


• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]


• Able to communicate in English [Required]


• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard [Required]


• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]


• Excellent customer service skills [Required]


• Ability to interact with patients [Required]


• Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic [Required]


• Must be able to follow oral and written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties [Required]


• Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment [Preferred]


• Knowledge of additional languages [Preferred]
