Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO. You will perform sanitation tasks aligned with infection control standards to support patient healing and overall well-being.

This full-time evening shift position requires rotating weekends and holidays. Training is provided; prior hospital housekeeping experience and customer service skills are preferred to help create a welcoming experience for

• Experience following written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to push/pull or lift 50 lbs regularly; mobility throughout the facility.

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being.

Location: Mercy Hospital Jefferson - Environmental Services Department

Hours / Schedule

Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Evening Shift
Requires Rotating Weekends/Holidays

• Education: Although a high school diploma or GED is preferred, we are pleased to offer comprehensive on-the-job training to support your success at Mercy.
• Experience: Prior hospital environmental service experience preferred. Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions. Previous experience with performing manual tasks preferred. Prior experience working with the public; customer service.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • This role involves frequent movement throughout the hospital during the majority of the shift.
  • Flexibility and physical stamina are essential.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support departmental operation.
