Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Richmond is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS)/Housekeeping to support a clean, safe patient environment in Richmond, VA. The role helps infection control and comfort for patients, families and staff.

Shifts offered are 9am–5pm or 7am–3:30pm for a full-time schedule with compensation ranging from $17.23 to $21 per hour. The hospital offers orientation, PTO, comprehensive benefits, and a company-matching 401(k) retirement plan.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent preferred.
• Previous Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to perform light manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work environment in assigned areas such as patient rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Ensure sanitation, order and appearance of the hospital environment.
• Perform light manual housekeeping tasks per schedules and procedures.
• Clean furnishings, floors and equipment using appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Dust and arrange areas, replace supplies as needed.
• Make beds with clean linens and replenish dispensable items.

Responsibilities

• Consistently demonstrate commitment to customer service excellence in all interactions with patients, family members, visitors and other staff members.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators and lobby areas.
• Responsibility for the overall condition of the hospital, including sanitation, order, and appearance.
• Performing light manual work, ensuring that routine housekeeping tasks are being performed according to established schedules and procedures.
• Cleaning assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
• Using dust cloths and the vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture; emptying ashtrays and trash buckets; arranging furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Making beds with clean linen in prescribed manner; scouring and polishing sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment; replenishing supplies of soap, towels and other dispensable items.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent preferred.
