Day Shift / Night Shift
Full‑time: 72–60 hours every two weeks
Part‑time: 48–32 hours every two weeks
PRN: On‑call (must work at least 48 hours every six months).
Overview
Perform a variety of cleaning tasks in an orderly and timely fashion so as not to disrupt patients, employees or the public. Demonstrate competency in standard precautions, safety standards, and time and motion efficiencies to maintain safe, clean, aesthetically pleasing areas. Essential Duties
- Use and maintain cleaning equipment properly and safely.
- Perform all cleaning tasks and floor maintenance according to industry standards including isolation cleaning while adhering to infection control standards.
- Handle and use all cleaning agents safely, wearing proper personal protective equipment.
- Maintain equipment used to perform tasks properly, safely and competently.
- Dispose of soiled linen, trash, infectious waste and hazardous waste according to mandated procedures and infection control standards.
- Respond to all requests through Bed Tracking and Service Response Center in a proper and timely manner.
- Handle all linen according to procedures and usage.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in mandatory in‑service meetings (e.g. TB testing, safety, HIPAA).
- Speak to patients and co‑workers in a respectful manner.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally or in writing (read, write) to assure job is completed.
- Ability to understand and learn cleaning industry standards and operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and with others.

- Respond to requests in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Exit patient/customer encounters courteously, asking if there are additional needs that can be addressed.
3. Promotes Patient and Employee Safety:
- Demonstrate safe patient handling (transfers, transport, care administration, nutrition, medication, etc.).
- Demonstrate safe materials handling (appropriate use and disposal of chemicals, infectious wastes, etc.).
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of infectious disease precautions and use of proper protective equipment.
- Demonstrate slips, trips and falls awareness.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and quiet environment.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Able to bend, stretch, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
- Position will use a ladder, lift up to 100 pounds, and have visual clarity.
- Dexterity to operate various types of cleaning equipment and perform cleaning tasks.
