Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio seeks an Environmental Services Technician for the afternoon shift. The role performs cleaning tasks, maintains safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing areas, and adheres to infection control standards.

You will work with patient care teams, use cleaning equipment, and participate in mandated safety trainings, TB testing, HIPAA, and other in-service meetings.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates competency in standard precautions, safety standards, and time and motion efficiencies to maintain safe, clean, aesthetically pleasing areas.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES** 1. Uses and maintains cleaning equipment properly and safely. 2. Performs all cleaning tasks and floor maintenance according to industry standards including isolation cleaning, while adhering to infection control standards. 3. Knowledge, usage and handling of all cleaning agents in a safe way using proper personal protective equipment. 4. Uses and maintains equipment used to perform tasks properly, safely and competently. 5. Handles, disposes of soiled linen, trash, infectious waste and hazardous waste according to mandated procedures and infection control standards. 6. Responds to all requests through Bed Tracking and Service Response Center in a proper and timely manner. 7. Handles all linen according to procedures and usage. 8. Maintains privacy and confidentiality at all times. 9. Participates in mandatory in-service meetings (e.g. TB testing, safety, HIPAA) 10.
