Job summary

Erickson Senior Living in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a Housekeeping Utility Worker to maintain cleanliness across the community, prepare rooms for events, and remove trash. This full-time role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a hospitality-focused senior living environment.

Responsibilities include operating carpet and floor care equipment, proper waste handling, and fulfilling room setup requests.

Qualifications

  • Carpet care and floor finishing experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate carpet and hard floor care equipment safely.
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
  • May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of employment.
  • Must have a history of safe driving as noted through an MVR check if driving is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the community through operation of specialized equipment.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste.
  • Utilize work orders to ensure proper room/furniture setups.
  • Assist with movement and delivery of heavy objects.
  • Remove trash including refuse and recycling.
  • Maintain hard floor surfaces: scrubbing, mopping, burnishing, stripping, waxing.
  • Maintain carpeted surfaces: extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, vacuuming.

Join our team as a Housekeeping Utility Worker, responsible for cleaning building areas, floors, and surfaces, setting up rooms for events, and removing trash. No travel required. Be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, Starting at $16.50/hour

How you will make an impact

What you will need

  • Previous experience in carpet care and floor finishing techniques is preferred
  • Ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment, and any other equipment necessary for the cleanliness of the community
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
  • May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of employment.
  • Must have a history of safe driving as noted through a Motor Vehicle Record check, if driving is required
