Job summary

Mercy Environmental Services is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks across the healthcare facility. You will help ensure infection control standards and regulatory requirements are met, contributing to a healthy, hygienic environment that supports patient healing and well-being.

The role emphasizes following instructions, working with the public, and handling manual tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety across patient areas.

• Prior Hospital Environmental Service experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is preferred.
• Experience with performing manual tasks is preferred.
• Experience working with the public; customer service is preferred.

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: None.
• Experience: None.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior Hospital Environmental service experience. Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions. Previous experience with performing manual tasks. Prior experience working with the public; customer service.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
