Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an Environmental Services teammate to perform daily cleaning and supply tasks in patient rooms, wards, and common areas, supporting safe patient care. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to prescribed cleaning methods, and strong communication with staff and patients.

Night shift hours run 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with variable workdays. Experience in fast-paced environments and a High School diploma (preferred) are helpful; hospital

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a hospital setting would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service routinely in interactions with customers, including coworkers, patients, visitors, physician, and volunteers.
• Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
• Dusts horizontal surfaces that collect dust.
• Empties wastepaper baskets, removes trash, and cleans inside/outside trash container.
• Spot cleans walls and windows.
• Replenishes room supplies.
• Dumps wipes and cleans all furniture, cleans and polishes metal and porcelain fixtures in the bathroom.
• Dries and wet mops floors of rooms and offices and spot cleans carpets as needed.
• Makes beds as needed and sorts/distributes linens as assigned.
• Performs checkout cleaning as assigned.
• Supports and participates in quality improvement of services.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers cleaning turnover and communicates barriers to leadership.

Job Description

Performs daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, and other assigned areas in accordance with the standards set by the Environmental Services department and hospital objectives in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s mission, vision, and values. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience
