Job summary

Livingston HealthCare is seeking a dedicated housekeeping associate to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff at Livingston HealthCare. The shift is 1.0 FTE (40 hours) with 12pm-10pm, Tuesday-Friday, featuring 10-hour shifts.

Compensation includes a $3,000 sign-on bonus and $20.00/hr + DOE. The role requires adherence to sanitation standards and physical stamina to perform daily cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow both verbal and written directions.
• Maintain confidentiality guidelines set forth by Livingston HealthCare.
• Physical ability to perform medium to medium-heavy tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors, clean carpets and wash walls.
• Clean and sanitize lavatories.
• Dust and polish furniture and doors.
• Wash and make beds.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed to clean.
• Collect linen and empty trash in assigned areas.
• Requisition supplies and report repairs.
• Maintain equipment and report repairs to supervisor.
• Mix, use and dispose of chemicals following safety procedures.
• Carry out duties using appropriate safety and security practices.
• Cross-train as laundry aide and be flexible to work off-campus facilities.

Schedule:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sweeps and mops floor, cleans carpets and washes walls.
• Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes lavatories
• Dusts and polishes furniture, doors, etc.
• Washing and making beds.
• Moves furniture and equipment including beds, chairs, tables on wheels as needed to clean.
• Collects linen, empties trash from assigned areas.
• Requisitions supplies.
• Maintains assigned equipment reporting items needing repair to supervisor.
• Mixes, uses and disposes of chemicals following a safe procedure.
• Carries out duties utilizing appropriate safety and security practices.
• Any other duties assigned by the Facility Services Manager.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Required to cross train as laundry aide.
• Flexible to clean off campus facilities or clinics as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Medium to medium-heavy according to Livingston HealthCare’s physical demand classifications. Although on occasion an employee may be required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects or patients heavier than said classification, with or without assistance. Occasionally required to walk or stand for extended periods of time.

Medium: Lift: 50 lbs from floor to waist height using proper body mechanics. Lift: 25 lbs from waist height to shoulder height using proper body mechanics. Carry: 50 lbs 40 feet. Push: 50 lbs of force 35 feet. Pull: 50 lbs of force 35 feet.

Medium- Heavy: Lift: 60 lbs from floor to waist height using proper body mechanics. Lift: 50 lbs from waist height to shoulder height using proper body mechanics. Carry: 60 lbs 40 feet. Push: 60 lbs of force 35 feet. Pull: 60 lbs of force 35 feet.

MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT:

Frequently required to operate electrical/mechanical equipment. Use of computer required with competency training
