Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Francis Hospital – Interquest in Colorado Springs is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, staff and visitors, following hospital procedures and standards.

You will perform 6-step daily cleans in patient rooms, handle soiled linens and waste according to policy, support infection control, and provide courteous service. A High School Diploma or GED and healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform 6 step daily cleaning procedure in patient room to a level acceptable to the patient.
• Perform checkout cleaning procedure in patient room according to departmental policies and procedures, including medical equipment.
• Perform intensive cleaning procedures in specialty areas such as Emergency Department, Surgery and Pharmacy to a level acceptable that eliminates the risk of infection to the patient.
• Removes and transports soiled linens, trash, infectious waste and recycling according to departmental policy and procedures.
• Prioritize assisting customers above all other duties.
• When cleaning an occupied room the Environmental Services Worker will follow organizational customer service script.

Every day you will perform cleaning duties with meticulous attention to detail, ensure all areas meet hygiene and safety requirements, and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and other staff members.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong work ethic, thorough attention to cleanliness and safety, and excellent customer service skills, contributing to a secure and welcoming hospital environment.
