Job summary

St Francis Interquest is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, staff and visitors. You will follow established procedures, perform daily cleaning with meticulous attention to detail, and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and coworkers.

Responsibilities include 6-step cleaning in patient rooms, checkout cleaning per policy, and intensive cleaning in Emergency, Surgery and Pharmacy to prevent infection.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform checkout cleaning in patient rooms per policies and procedures, including medical equipment.
• Perform intensive cleaning in Emergency Department, Surgery and Pharmacy to prevent infection risk.
• Remove and transport soiled linens, trash, infectious waste and recycling per policy.
• Prioritize assisting customers above all other duties.
• Follow the customer service script when cleaning occupied rooms.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Technician, you will maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors, strictly following established departmental procedures and standards. Every day you will perform cleaning duties with meticulous attention to detail, ensure all areas meet hygiene and safety requirements, and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and other staff members. To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong work ethic, thorough attention to cleanliness and safety, and excellent customer service skills, contributing to a secure and welcoming hospital environment.

• Perform 6 step daily cleaning procedure in patient room to a level acceptable to the patient.


• Perform checkout cleaning procedure in patient room according to departmental policies and procedures, including medical equipment.


• Perform intensive cleaning procedures in specialty areas such as Emergency Department, Surgery and Pharmacy to a level acceptable that eliminates the risk of infection to the patient.


• Removes and transports soiled linens, trash, infectious waste and recycling according to departmental policy and procedures.


• Prioritize assisting customers above all other duties.


• When cleaning an occupied room the Environmental Services Worker will follow organizational customer service script.
