Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor for Dignity Health East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Chandler, AZ. You will lead EVS operations to keep a clean, safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include supervising EVS staff, managing hiring, training, scheduling, and performance; ensuring schedules and infection control standards are met; and maintaining equipment and coordinating safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in an administrative or receptionist role preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications; customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees EVS operations to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Supervises EVS personnel including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensures patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, and corridors meet schedules and infection control standards.
• Performs floor care activities and maintains stocked restrooms and clean fixtures.
• Operates and maintains cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Conducts routine facility inspections and recommends repairs or improvements.
• Schedules EVS staff to ensure adequate coverage throughout the hospital.
• Develops orientation and ongoing training programs for staff competency.
• Participates in hospital safety initiatives and committees.
• Ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations and cleanliness standards.

How You'll Contribute

• Oversees the facility's environmental services (EVS) operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Supervises EVS personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action in accordance with organizational policies.
• Ensures patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls, and windows are cleaned according to established schedules and infection control standards.
• Performs and oversees floor care activities such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping; ensures restrooms are stocked and fixtures are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Operates and maintains cleaning equipment and machinery, including vacuums, mini extractors, and hand trucks.
• Conducts routine inspections of the facility to evaluate cleanliness and physical condition; recommends repairs, painting, and space utilization improvements as needed.
• Schedules EVS staff to maintain appropriate coverage throughout the hospital.
• Develops and implements orientation and ongoing training programs to support staff competency and performance.
• Participates in hospital safety initiatives and committees.
• Ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations and cleanliness standards..
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role preferred; student experience in higher education considered.
• Skills: Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications. Customer service experience or aptitude required to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public.
