Position Summary

Our exciting Manager-In-Training (MIT) program offers you the opportunity to learn and grow within an established company with over 45 years of experience. This customized interactive program lasts approximately sixteen (16) weeks and includes hands-on and computer-based training covering:

  • General Training & Comprehension - Learn and perform duties of housekeeper, heavy housekeeper/floor tech, and laundry worker, including operating various industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Leadership Development - Assist in training, quality control, and staff in-servicing according to policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements.
  • Policies & Procedures - Provide leadership, support, and guidance to meet quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations, adhering to applicable standards and policies.
  • Reporting - Maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment, and report to management.
  • Training - Responsible for staff training, quality control, and in-servicing to meet HCSG standards, including regular site assessments.
  • Leadership - Handle managerial responsibilities such as payroll, staffing, coaching, discipline, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting.
  • Communication - Effectively communicate directives from managers, building occupants, and administrators to staff.
  • Safety - Use protective gear, handle cleaning solutions safely, and report equipment needs or malfunctions. Follow infection control and safety policies to maintain a sanitary environment.
  • Punctuality - Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks. Respond promptly to communication systems.
  • Customer Experience - Represent HCSG positively by following instructions, being courteous, and cooperating with staff and clients.
  • Experience - Engage in positive, tactful interactions with staff and guests.

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, perform routine tasks.
  • Leadership skills post-training, ability to work independently without injury.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks and work around food and cleaning products.
  • Reside within the service area.
