Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham Environmental Services is seeking an Environmental Services Group Lead to supervise daily operations and guide a team on the 1st shift. You will assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure clean, safe facilities while maintaining equipment, supplies, and uniforms.

Strong communication and leadership are essential to coordinate with campus customers and staff. Applicants should have prior supervisory experience in cleaning services, ability to read and follow

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and train others.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning and floor care equipment.
• Read and write well enough to understand instructions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs and walk long distances on campus.
• Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to use PCs, cell phone, tablet and other devices.
• Ability to use Word and Outlook; other apps as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead employees in assigned work area; assign daily tasks and project work.
• Perform cleaning duties including floor care and maintenance.
• Complete tasks independently and participate in ongoing training.
• Share information with team; attend meetings; use devices to document work and time/attendance.
• Collect data; assist with training and performance inputs.
• Monitor supplies inventory; distribute supplies; ensure proper storage and maintenance.
