Job summary

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection invites applications for an Environmental Services Intern in our Water Resource Management program. The role supports hydrologic modeling, drought monitoring data synthesis, and regional watershed assessment under supervision of subject matter experts.

Ideal candidates study physical or environmental sciences or related engineering fields, with interest in hydrology and data analysis using R, Python, GIS, and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Educational experience and interest in hydrology, hydrologic modeling, and geology.
• Experience with computer coding such as R, Python, GIS, and Tableau.
• Driver's license required if operation of a vehicle is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support land phase hydrologic modeling and data synthesis tasks.
• Contribute to regional watershed assessments and data analyses for interstate water policy.
• Attend project meetings and assist in report production.
