Job Description:

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition, meeting hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Essential Functions

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Properly use cleaning chemicals according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understand procedures and dispose of infectious waste and trash correctly.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills following department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning, disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, and correct donning and doffing of PPE.
• Maintain work and storage areas following established policies to ensure safety.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to see and read information, labels, and monitors; identify equipment and supplies; assess customer needs.
• Frequent communication with customers and quick understanding of spoken information, alarms, and issues.
• Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and setting up computers, phones, etc.
• Capability to lift, transport, pull, push equipment, and work on hands and knees, including lifting heavy items.

The hourly rate ranges from $16.83 to $21.88, depending on experience.
