Job summary

Princeton University’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) seeks an Environmental Services Division Head to provide strategic, technical, and managerial leadership. The role emphasizes staff development, budget oversight, and compliance within NJ state and federal frameworks.

You will drive policy development, program improvement, and organizational resilience, while aligning with ES&H goals and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science or related field; Master’s strongly preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive technical and management experience in environmental management.
• 7+ years of staff management experience.
• Experience with NJDEP ELCP/NELAP programs is a plus.
• Experience working in regulated federal environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership and division management - build resilience and delegate programmatic elements.
• Regulatory compliance oversight with NJ, DOE Orders, and environmental permits.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, and financial performance of the Environmental Services Division.
• Collaborate with PPPL, DOE, and University offices on sustainability and mission impact.
