Job summary

Aramark Healthcare+ seeks an experienced Environmental Services Director to lead ES operations within a hospital setting, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, regulatory compliance, patient experience, and operational performance.

This leader will develop frontline teams, drive accountability through KPIs, and partner with hospital and Aramark leaders to achieve departmental and client objectives. Experience in healthcare ES leadership, safety, and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant leadership experience may be considered.
• Significant Environmental Services leadership experience in a healthcare or acute-care hospital environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading large, complex Environmental Services operations and sizable frontline teams.
• Experience leading and developing managers and supervisors.
• Strong understanding of healthcare environmental services standards, infection prevention, sanitation, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing operational metrics, KPIs, quality data, and analytics to drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, labor management, productivity, and cost controls.
• Experience supporting patient throughput, discharge cleaning, room turnover, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships in a demanding healthcare environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly visible acute-care environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, controls and directs all cleaning, sanitizing and waste removal functions within a healthcare facility to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives and customer needs
• Overall ownership and accountability of operational management and financial performance of the unit
• Model key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence for employees, clients and consumers
• Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved
• Reward and recognize employees
• Identify and engage top talent and develop team members to their fullest potential within the organization
• Plan and lead team management meetings
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations
• Establish and maintain effective client and customer rapport for a mutually beneficial business relationship

• Deliver and model WEST as the foundation for delivering excellent customer service
• Facilitate and support new business and retention activities

• Ensure the completion and maintenance of financial statements relative to the department
• Oversight and responsibility to deliver client and company financial targets
• Adopt all Aramark processes and systems, eliminate custom/manual reports
• Understand performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins
• Implement and maintain GM agenda for both labor and total quality management requirements
• Create value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
• Ensure consistent application of Aramark's operating standards and processes (Operational Excellence) with focus on efficiencies in sustainability efforts to reduce energy consumption and labor productivity standards
