Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking an Environmental Services Custodian to maintain clean and sanitary conditions across the Harry & David campus offices, restrooms, lounges, break rooms, production areas and interiors. Duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, polishing, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping. This is a safety-sensitive position with drug testing and a valid Oregon driver’s license

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Safety-sensitive position subject to initial and follow-up drug testing.
• Background and Driver record review; valid Oregon driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, clean, sanitize, polish, dust, vacuum, and trash removal in offices, restrooms, lounges, break rooms, production areas, and building interiors.
• Monitor building security and safety; lock doors after hours; check electrical appliance use to prevent hazards.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms; gather and empty trash.
• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping or vacuuming; maintain cleanliness.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners to protect floors and fixtures.
• Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents or acids as specified.
• Notify managers about major repairs or additions to building systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with cleaners and squeegees.

Duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, polishing, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal.

• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
