Job summary

Longhorn Village is seeking an Environmental Services Coordinator to support housekeeping, laundry, and porter operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. This full-time role involves scheduling, inventory management, staff training, and collaborating with multiple departments.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish with 1–3 years of housekeeping experience in hospitality or healthcare settings. High school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Strong communication in both languages with residents and team members.
  • Experience in housekeeping in hospitality or healthcare environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily housekeeping and environmental services assignments to ensure coverage across the community.
  • Assist with creating and adjusting associate schedules; cover call-ins, vacations, and staffing shortages.
  • Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms and common areas to maintain cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Monitor completion of cleaning tasks and assist with training new associates on procedures and safety.
  • Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and handling of departmental materials.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals per safety guidelines.
  • Support infection prevention practices and respond to resident, family, and staff requests related to environmental services.
  • Assist with move-ins/move-outs and coordination of deep-cleaning or floor-care projects.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns observed during inspections to the appropriate department.

This position assists with scheduling, work assignments, supply management, quality inspections, associate training, and communication between Environmental Services and other departments.Position Summary:Under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager, the Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the overall quality and efficiency of the Environmental Services Department, which includes Housekeeping, Laundry and Porter.Accountabilities:Coordinate daily housekeeping and environmental services assignments to ensure appropriate coverage throughout the community.Assist with preparing associate schedules and arranging coverage for call-ins, vacations, and staffing shortages.Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, apartments, common areas, offices, restrooms, and other community spaces to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are maintained.Monitor completion of daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning assignments.Assist with training and orientation of new Environmental Services associates regarding cleaning procedures, equipment, chemicals, infection-control practices, and safety requirements.Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, paper products, and other departmental materials.Assist with ordering, receiving, organizing, and distributing departmental supplies.Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are properly labeled, stored, maintained, and used according to manufacturer instructions and safety requirements.Promote compliance with infection prevention and control procedures, including proper cleaning and disinfection practices.Respond promptly and professionally to resident, family, associate, and departmental requests or concerns regarding environmental services.Coordinate room/apartment cleaning associated with move-ins, move-outs, transfers, renovations, and special projects.Assist with scheduling and monitoring deep-cleaning and floor-care projects.Identify maintenance or safety concerns observed during inspections and report them to the appropriate department.Maintain departmental records, checklists, inspection forms, supply records, and other required documentation.Assist Environmental Services leadership with departmental meetings, training, performance monitoring, and quality-improvement initiatives.Provide hands-on housekeeping assistance when necessary to meet operational needs.Follow all community policies regarding resident rights, privacy, confidentiality, safety, infection prevention, and emergency procedures.Maintain professional and respectful communication with residents, families, visitors, associates, and leadership.Perform other duties as assigned.Full-Time Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSAShort Term Disability, Accident, Life InsuranceVacation and Sick time403B Retirement Savings Plan with discretionary employer contributionEmployee Assistance ProgramDiscount Meal ProgramQualificationsMust be Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.High School education or GED preferred but not required.Preferred minimum of 1-3 years of housekeeping in hospitality or healthcare environment.
