Qualifications

• At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience in field operations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; able to pass MVR and screenings.
• Willing to travel and be on-call 24/7/365; 40+ hours per week.
• Must read, write and speak English; travel as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in environmental services, hazardous waste, or emergency response preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct hazmat emergency response operations including spill containment and recovery; submit regulatory reports.
• Recruit, hire, train, and manage branch personnel; ensure HAZWOPER and safety certifications.
• Oversee confined space entry operations and industrial tank cleaning projects.
• Implement processes to achieve regulatory compliance, safety objectives, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and travel to sites.

Job description

We are hiring a full-time Hazmat Branch Manager to lead environmental emergency response operations and branch personnel in the Omaha, NE metro area. The Branch Manager oversees hazardous materials incident response, industrial services, regulatory compliance, and workforce management. This is an on-call, field-active leadership role requiring availability 24/7/365. Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually.

• Salary range of $100,000–$125,000 based on experience, paid on a salaried basis

Key Responsibilities - Hazmat Branch Manager

• Direct hazardous materials emergency response operations including spill response, containment, and recovery; complete and submit all required regulatory agency reports following each incident
• Recruit, hire, train, and manage branch personnel; ensure all employees maintain required HAZWOPER and safety training certifications
• Oversee and participate in confined space entry operations and industrial tank cleaning projects on a regular basis
• Implement and maintain operational processes to achieve regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and safety program objectives
• Participate in 24/7 on-call emergency response rotation and travel regularly to customer sites, incident locations, and company facilities

Qualifications - Hazmat Branch Manager

• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or management experience in a field operations environment
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass MVR, background, and pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol screenings
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week and remain available on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English; willingness and ability to travel as required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in environmental services, hazardous waste, or emergency response strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications - Environmental Emergency Response Operations Manager

• HAZWOPER 40-hour certification (29 CFR 1910.120) or ability to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience managing industrial cleaning, tank cleaning, or confined space entry projects
• Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, and DOT hazardous materials regulatory requirements
• Experience submitting incident reports to local, state, or federal regulatory agencies
• CDL or experience operating response vehicles and pressure washing equipment

Physical Requirements - Hazmat Branch Manager

• Ability to lift, carry, and move drums and materials; operate shovels and pressure washing equipment in field conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and work safely at elevated heights in industrial environments
• Ability to wear and work in respiratory protection equipment; must be clean-shaven where respirator seal is required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in confined spaces on active job sites
• This role involves regular field deployment, travel to emergency response locations, and shift work as incident demands require
