Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking environmental services staff to maintain clean patient and public areas and support infection control. Responsibilities include stocking, sanitizing surfaces, and utilizing bed management tools.

Prior healthcare EVS experience is preferred, with strong English communication and customer service skills. Position is full-time, night shift, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits starting from day one.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard environmental procedures.
• Ability to keep equipment and work areas clean and safe.
• Must read and understand Safety Data Sheets and labels.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Experience in healthcare EVS preferred.
• Basic math and reading comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing surfaces.
• Stock paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Use Bed Management system and handheld devices for bed throughput.
• Operate cleaning equipment and dispose of waste according to standards.
• Document all work performed and access ancillary units/restrooms.

Job Description:

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Other duties as assigned. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]
• Able to communicate in English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard [Required]
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience:
