Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to clean and disinfect patient areas, stock supplies, and support bed management. You will follow infection control procedures, operate cleaning equipment, and document work performed while interacting with patients and staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned patient and public areas daily and dispose of waste.
• Stock supplies in assigned areas as needed.
• Follow infection control and isolation procedures.
• Use Bed Management system to track bed flow with handheld devices.
• Operate cleaning equipment and carts safely.
• Collect and stage soiled linen for pickup.
• Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Disinfect areas with bodily fluids per facility standard.
• Document all work performed.
• Access ancillary units, restrooms and offices in assigned areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking.
• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
• Documents all work performed.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.
• Other duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]
• Able to communicate in English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard [Required]
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]
