Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA, seeks an Environmental Services Associate (housekeeping) for the Day shift (12:00 pm – 8:30 pm) with every other weekend commitment. Functions include maintaining sanitary conditions, using proper cleaning techniques and equipment, and supporting patient safety in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires a HS Diploma or equivalent and offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive mission-driven culture within Trinity Health.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalency is required.
• Experience in hospital housekeeping may be preferred.
• Ability to promote sanitary conditions and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Promote sanitary conditions, preventing spread of infection and odors.
• Use cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools efficiently.
• Perform cleaning and project tasks within area of responsibility or as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain equipment, tools and storage areas in clean, orderly condition.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies, spills and special needs.
• Exercise good judgment around patients and visitors.
• Floor Tech duties: work every other weekend and major holidays.

Position Purpose:

• The Environmental Services Associate performs housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department.

As an “ Environmental Services Associate ” you will:

• Promote sanitary conditions, which prevents the spread of infection and odors.

• Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools.

• Performs all cleaning and project assignments within area of responsibility or as directed by supervisor.

• Maintains equipment, tools and storage areas in clean, orderly and good operating conditions.

• Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, spills, etc.

• Exercises good judgment while working around patients and visitors.

• The Floor Tech is required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday.

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalency (required)
