Job summary

1400 The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation is searching for an environmental services team member to help prevent disease spread by thoroughly cleaning, sanitizing areas, and disposing of hazardous waste in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, following infection control guidelines, and maintaining safe, sanitary spaces for patients and staff, with lifting up to 35 lbs with assistance and regular department meetings.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 0-1 year in cleaning roles preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.
• Familiar with vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning according to schedules and infection control guidelines.
• Complete waste stream removal.
• Clean and service assigned areas per procedures.
• Move furniture and equipment to maintain sanitary hospital areas.
• Operate floor machines and buffers.
• Attend at least eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintain clean, safe areas for patients and staff.

Job Summary Summary

Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of any diseases by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses.

Does this position require Patient Care? No

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
• Completes waste stream removal.
• According to established procedures clean and service assigned areas.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the Medical Center departments, and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• Operates assigned equipment, (floor machines, buffers).
• Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times.
