As a member of our Environmental Services (EVS) team, you’ll play an important role in supporting the patient experience throughout the hospital. This position offers hands-on training, opportunities to develop valuable skills, and a pathway to explore future career opportunities within Environmental Services and across Cleveland Clinic.

Various shifts and hours are available

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Clean patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms, ancillary areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Empty waste containers, clean furniture and surfaces, and address spills and other cleaning needs.
• Restock paper products and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and assigned areas.
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and hospital-wide safety standards.
• Complete hands-on training to learn cleaning techniques, departmental procedures, and the proper use and storage of cleaning products and chemicals.

Qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• A commitment to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines
• Willingness to learn and participate in hands-on training

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.
• Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required,

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.00

Maximum hourly: $18.38
