Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Medina is seeking an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to support patient comfort and safety at Medina Hospital. This part-time role involves cleaning patient rooms, exam areas, offices, waiting areas, and restrooms, while restocking supplies and following hospital policies.

The position runs 5pm–9pm, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and three holidays per year. Training will cover cleaning techniques and safety procedures, and a strong attention to detail is

Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we’re looking to add an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments within Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works part-time, 5pm-9:00pm, Mon-Fri. Every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
• Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, and restrooms.
• Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
• Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
• Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions while working with minimal supervision
• Can learn and follow departmental policies and procedures, including cleaning and patient hospitality techniques and the proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals
• Clear, courteous and caring communication skills
• Can work effectively in a fast-paced cleaning environment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• A high school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
• Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light Work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.00

Maximum hourly: $18.38
