Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute in Escondido, CA is seeking an Environmental Services Aide. You will maintain a clean, safe hospital environment across patient rooms, public areas, and offices, while upholding infection control standards.

The role requires professionalism with patients, visitors, and staff, and involves following cleaning protocols, operating cleaning equipment, and supporting unit readiness. PRN schedule. Prior hospital experience preferred.

How you'll contribute

An Environmental Services Aidewho excels in this role:

• Is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, public areas, and offices. This role supports infection control and contributes to a positive patient experience through cleanliness and organization.
• Must maintain professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Clean patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls, and windows according to daily schedule.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, and shine floors; replenish paper and soap products; clean mirrors, sinks, and toilets.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor scrubbers.
• Collect and remove trash from all areas of the facility daily.
• Stock linens throughout the hospital to ensure unit readiness.
• Adhere to all infection control policies and report safety hazards to supervisors.
• Must maintain professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to follow cleaning protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred; cleaning or housekeeping experience strongly preferred.

Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Schedule: PRN (as needed)

This position does not have a set weekly schedule. You'll be called in to work when extra help is needed - such as covering for someone, handling busy periods, or filling gaps in the schedule. Hours can vary from week to week, and there's no guaranteed hours.
