Job summary

AdventHealth Tarpon Springs is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Associate for a night-weekend on-site role. You will collect trash, transport carts, and assist in cleaning and safety procedures across hospital areas while following established guidelines.

The position emphasizes PPE use, attention to safety, and collaboration with departments to meet goals. A high school diploma is preferred, hospital experience is a plus, and English communication is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow instructions; communicate in English.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and proper PPE usage on the job.

Responsibilities

• Collects trash carts and delivers them to assigned area according to schedule.
• Responds to requests for special trash pickups and relines containers as needed.
• Transports trash carts between collection points and designated areas.
• Performs cleaning using the 10 steps process and Sniper disinfecting as required.
• Monitors equipment, reports issues, and assists in supplies stocking.
• Uses PPE properly and follows safety protocols including bloodborne and airborne precautions.
• Documents daily assignments and participates in safety training programs.
• Interacts with patients/customers appropriately and supports cross-department goals.

Job Description: Collects trash carts and delivers them to assigned area according to schedule. Responds to requests for special trash pickups and relines trash containers as needed. Transports trash carts from collection point to designated area. Attends all required Safety Training programs and understands responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Follows Hospital Exposure Control/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens protocols. Promotes effective working relations and collaborates within and across departments to meet goals and objectives. Monitors and reports any equipment issues or shortages and ensures supplies are stocked. Assists in cleanup of emergency spills as requested or observed. Uses personal protective equipment in all aspects of job performance. Performs other duties as assigned.
