Job summary

CHI St. Joseph’s Health of Park Rapids, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized, protecting patients, visitors, and staff from infections.

You will perform routine cleaning tasks, use specialized equipment, learn proper disposal of biohazards, restock supplies, and report maintenance needs to help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for all.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Healthcare custodial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean all department floors areas according to establish standards.
• Maintain and clean all public area carpets or floors.
• Remove all trash, biohazards, soiled linen to designated areas for pickup.
• Maintain all grounds area by mowing or snow removal.
• Restock any and all supplies within department areas.
• Identifies and reports work orders to maintenance department.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.

Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.

To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff.
