Job summary

The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights is hiring full-time and PRN Environmental Services staff to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. Compensation ranges from $16.50 to $17.75 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities include trash removal, dining room cleaning, room sanitation, and operating floor-care equipment while adhering to infection control protocols. Positive, resident-centered care is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment (stripping, waxing, buffing).
• Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience (preferred).
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and detail-oriented.

\$16.50–\$17.75/hour, based on experience. Full-Time and PRN openings available at The Lutheran Home, a faith-based skilled nursing community in Arlington Heights. Join our team to help keep our community clean, safe, and welcoming for residents.

What You'll Do

• Remove trash from resident rooms, common areas, and workstations throughout your shift


• Clean and reset the dining room, including tables, chairs, and floors, before and after meal service


• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the skilled nursing community


• Clean resident rooms, restrooms, and other assigned common areas


• Operate floor care equipment (stripping, waxing, buffing) as part of regular cleaning duties


• Follow cleaning and infection control protocols


• Help residents feel cared for through the quality of the space you maintain

What You'll Need

Required:

• Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment (stripping, waxing, buffing)

Preferred:

• Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience


• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team


• Reliable and detail-oriented

Pay

\$16.50–\$17.75/hour, based on experience, for both Full-Time and PRN schedules

Schedule options

• Full-Time: Monday-Friday 11:00 AM–7:00 PM with weekend rotation


• PRN (as-needed): Choose the shift that fits your life — 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
